Suunil Kohli
Former Chairman, Delhi Chapter, Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) · Pioneer of airport advertising in India · Author · Social welfare activist
From Delhi, India, with a professional career dating back to 1970 and extensive experience in advertising, aviation, travel management and foreign exchange services. Over the decades he has built his professional identity through entrepreneurship, industry leadership and long-standing relationships within the aviation and travel communities.
Advertising pioneer & aviation professional
His journey began in 1970 when he and his late father, Shri P. C. Kohli, established their advertising business. Starting with billboards, they expanded into airport advertising and pioneered the launch of airport advertising in India, alongside aviation advertising.
They became the sole concessionaire for Indian Airlines. His association with aviation dates back to 1982, when he was appointed as an advertising agent for aviation stationery. Operations then expanded to airports from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, managing billboards, glow signs and other advertising displays across India.
Travel industry leadership
Until 1996 he managed both the advertising and travel agency businesses, and thereafter devoted himself exclusively to aviation and the travel trade. He completed around 10–15 courses in advertising along with IATA courses, and developed a broad understanding of international travel operations.
A significant milestone was serving as Chairman of the Delhi Chapter of the Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI), looking after approximately 800 IATA travel agents, which kept him closely connected with the travel agent community and its concerns. From 1990 to 2012 the firm also operated as a Full-Fledged Money Changer (FFMC) licensed by the Reserve Bank of India.
Author & community contributor
He has written approximately ten books for the citizens of India, available at www.mumcarebooks.com. In 2026 he authored Khukhrains, documenting the names and identity of the community, and has developed six to seven websites dedicated to the Khukhrain community and its initiatives.
A continuing commitment
He believes that practical experience, professional relationships and a willingness to address real-world problems are essential to meaningful leadership. Through his work, writing and welfare initiatives, he aims to contribute to the travel industry, preserve community heritage and make a positive difference in society.
